Spanish Medical Assistant (Temporary)
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment Type: Temporary (1 year+ contract role)
Position Overview
A well-established nonprofit organization serving children and families is seeking a detail-oriented healthcare professional to support health screenings, enrollment compliance, and health record management. This position plays a key role in ensuring children meet health requirements while partnering with families and healthcare providers to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hearing, vision, blood pressure, and growth screenings for children and complete follow-up screenings as needed.
- Review health intake forms, medical records, and immunization documentation to ensure enrollment requirements are met.
- Communicate with parents, healthcare providers, and clinics to obtain required medical and dental records.
- Monitor health reports and follow up on missing or expired health requirements.
- Develop and maintain health care documentation for children requiring medication or specialized health accommodations.
- Enter and maintain accurate medical, dental, immunization, and health information in electronic databases.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and program requirements while maintaining confidentiality of all records.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to families, staff, and community partners.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant, LVN, CNA, EMT, or other healthcare-related experience strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting patient assessments, vital signs, or health screenings preferred.
- Knowledge of immunization records, medical documentation, and HIPAA regulations.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and data entry.
- Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with children, schools, community health, public health, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Compensation
