Payroll Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a growing corporate organization to identify a High-Volume Payroll Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who is comfortable processing a high volume of payroll transactions in a fast-paced corporate environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Process accurate and timely high-volume weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll
• Review and verify large volumes of timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and employee changes
• Process new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, and other payroll updates
• Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, PTO, deductions, and other special payments
• Reconcile payroll reports and identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings
• Assist with payroll tax filings and payroll-related compliance requirements
• Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
• Support payroll audits and other special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Experience processing high-volume payroll is required
• Experience processing payroll for a corporate or multi-state organization preferred
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance requirements
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, UKG, Workday, or similar
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
