Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting

Compensation: $105 to $132 Yearly

We are seeking a Technical Accounting & Reporting Manager to serve as a key member of the Finance team, leading complex accounting analysis, policy development, and external reporting activities. This role will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate technical accounting matters, support regulatory filings, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with sound business judgment and the ability to influence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting

  • Research, analyze, and document the accounting treatment for complex transactions and business arrangements under U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda supporting accounting conclusions and positions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate contracts, agreements, and new initiatives to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Advise on accounting implications related to revenue recognition, financing transactions, vendor agreements, and other non-routine activities.
  • Monitor emerging accounting issues and proactively identify potential risks related to strategic projects and business changes.

Accounting Policy & Compliance

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and communication of accounting policies across the organization.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and regulatory developments, assess their impact, and coordinate implementation efforts.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and support the review and validation of technical accounting positions.
  • Strengthen internal controls and support a robust compliance environment through process reviews and enhancements.

Financial Reporting

  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual external financial reports, including financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Support consolidation activities and financial systems processes.
  • Assist with financial reporting projects and initiatives aimed at improving reporting quality and efficiency.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to finance leadership and operational stakeholders on technical accounting matters.
  • Lead projects and workstreams involving accounting, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to accounting team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across accounting and reporting processes.



Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant technical accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience leading projects, teams, or key accounting initiatives is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, external reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong technical research and accounting position paper experience.
  • Experience supporting complex transactions and evaluating accounting implications of business initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with auditors, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
