Bookkeeper - Construction

Robert Half is partnering with a growing construction company to identify a Construction Bookkeeper for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional with construction industry experience who is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting activities and supporting project-related financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare customer invoices and assist with construction billing
• Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Record and track project-related expenses
• Assist with job costing and project accounting
• Maintain accurate vendor, customer, and financial records
• Assist with payroll processing and certified payroll, if applicable
• Support lien waivers, insurance certificates, and subcontractor documentation
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams regarding accounting matters

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with job costing and project accounting
• Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
• Experience with construction billing and subcontractor payments
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar systems
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
