Description:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset management. This role is integral to the monthly close process and ensuring adherence to GAAP throughout the general ledger. 


The role may work a hybrid schedule or fully onsite at our Middleton, WI, office. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payables including vouching, check runs, approvals, and invoice / pack slip repositories.
  • Support general ledger close activities; ensure accurate transaction recording; analyze financial statements and investigate variances.
  • Support cost and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations with thorough documentation.
  • Develop monthly financial analysis supporting internal and external reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Support fixed assets, including CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and periodic audits.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Support internal/external audit activities.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and drive process improvements.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Be a backup to AR.


Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred

• 3-4 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Public accounting experience a plus

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools
