Product Development Associate

About The Job:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Product & Costing Associate, in coordination with the Product Development team, brings the creative designs of our design and global sourcing office to life. The role requires a passionate and motivated individual, well versed in men’s apparel, fabrics, design principles, and the design, development, and sourcing processes. The ideal candidate is a passionate and highly organized individual who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
• Adhere to cross-functional time and action calendar
• Manage development requests received from design teams
• Initiate and/or track status of all fabric, trim and garment development
• Communicate daily with factories and mills regarding style and production of development
• Active participation in adoption meetings with merchandise partners
• Create and manage bulk production style tech packs in system accurately and efficiently into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
• Manage approval of bulk submissions, including fabric and garments, against established standards
• Process all samples and share with appropriate team members, review both PPS and TOP samples and document in system
• Work with production department post adoption to insure on time delivery
• Daily cross functional partner interaction to assure correct product design is created
• Lead weekly development meetings for respective product
• Participate in scheduled cross-functional meetings to support business
• Develop subject matter expertise on the respective product
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience
• Degree in related field required
• Two or more (2+) years of relevant work experience in the apparel industry
• General knowledge of men’s fashion, textile and apparel design principles
• Experience working with product lifecycle management (PLM) software strongly preferred
• Ability to work well in a collaborative and creative environment with little supervision
• Highly self-motivated and directed, dependable with a strong work ethic
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment
• Capacity for effective cross-functional collaboration within the organization
• Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, juggle and execute tasks, and deliver results on strict deadlines
• Keen attention to detail, and demonstrated customer-service focus
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management and coworkers
• Adaptable and flexible to change, new ideas, and innovative approaches
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands:
• Be able to work full-time from our company's New York, NY office
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer
• Regular and on-time attendance; Hours can regularly exceed 40 hours per week; Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Ability to perform general office administrative activities: writing, copying, filing, delivering, and using the telephone
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
The starting salary for this position is $61,110–$81,453. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. Over time, and subject to performance, tenure, and evolving responsibilities, total compensation for this role may grow to as much as $101,795. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
