Associate Global Forwarding Agent

We are looking for an Associate Global Forwarding Agent to support international shipment coordination for assigned customer accounts in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. This ongoing/long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can balance detailed documentation, responsive communication, and accurate shipment execution in a fast-paced logistics environment. The person in this role will help move freight from order initiation through final delivery while ensuring customer expectations, billing details, and shipment records are handled with care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the progress of international shipments from purchase order release through cargo delivery, ensuring each step is completed accurately and on schedule.

• Coordinate daily shipment activities such as approvals, document preparation, pre-alert communication, delivery arrangements, and related administrative follow-up.

• Maintain complete and accurate shipment records, including routing details, Incoterms, milestone dates, documentation, and account-specific instructions.

• Prepare customer pricing and freight quotations for lower- to medium-complexity requests based on service needs and network options.

• Support billing accuracy by entering financial shipment details and reviewing charges before invoicing is issued to customers.

• Provide shipment visibility by responding to track-and-trace requests, sharing status updates, and resolving service questions in a timely manner.

• Build productive working relationships with customers, agents, internal teams, and external vendors to support smooth transportation execution.

• Follow customer standard operating procedures and apply sound judgment to address operational issues, exceptions, and changing shipment requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience in customer service, logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or administrative support within a deadline-driven environment.
• Working knowledge of international shipping documentation, cargo movement processes, and common trade terms such as Incoterms.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain data accuracy across shipment files, reports, and invoicing records.
• Comfort handling multiple priorities at once while staying organized and meeting service expectations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially for documentation, reporting, and day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Ability to learn pricing structures, follow standard operating procedures, and support issue resolution with a solution-oriented mindset.

Compensation

$20.00-$24.00 Hourly
