Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join an advertising agency on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist who can manage high-volume payable activity, maintain strong vendor communication, and support accurate financial operations. The role will contribute to timely payment processing, account reconciliation, and month-end activities while partnering with internal teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor and operational invoices with accurate coding, review, and timely payment execution.
• Reconcile media owner balances and resolve payment discrepancies to ensure records remain complete and accurate.
• Monitor the accounts payable inbox, respond to questions promptly, and provide dependable support to vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain vendor records by updating banking details, payment terms, and related documentation in accordance with internal controls.
• Coordinate ACH payments and check runs while verifying approval status and payment accuracy.
• Assist with month-end close tasks connected to accounts payable, including reconciliations, accrual support, and prepaid expense tracking.
• Work across multiple vendors and purchase order-related items to keep payable workflows organized and current.
• Partner with finance and accounting team members to support day-to-day AP operations as the function continues to expand internally.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Hands-on experience with invoice coding, account coding, and processing supplier invoices in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and strong Excel skills for analysis, tracking, and reconciliation work.
• Experience handling ACH transactions, check runs, and vendor payment activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ability to manage a shared inbox and communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and month-end close support within accounts payable.
• Experience working with multiple vendors and purchase orders; media industry background is strongly preferred.

Compensation

$27.71-$32.09 Hourly
