Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a health pharm/biotech organization in Boston, Massachusetts on a Contract basis. This role focuses on accurate invoice processing, timely payment execution, and strong financial recordkeeping to support day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with accounts payable workflows, sharp attention to coding accuracy, and confidence working with purchase orders and electronic payment methods.

Responsibilities:
• Review and process vendor invoices with careful attention to correct account allocation and supporting documentation.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and verify details before submitting items for payment.
• Prepare and execute scheduled payment activities, including ACH transactions and check runs, in line with internal timelines.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
• Apply accurate invoice coding to ensure expenses are recorded properly within the accounting system.
• Support daily AP operations in NetSuite by entering, updating, and tracking transaction data.
• Monitor outstanding items and follow up on pending approvals to help keep payment processing on schedule.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounts payable within a fast-paced business environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, account classification, and purchase order matching.
• Hands-on experience processing ACH payments and managing check run activities.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable accounting platform.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle financial data with accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a Contract role.

Compensation

$25.00-$30.00 Hourly
