Warehouse/Packing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Warehouse/Packing Clerk to support packaging and shipping operations in Houston, Texas. This contract to hire position focuses on preparing sensitive equipment for transport, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure products are packed safely and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with material handling equipment, following technical instructions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a controlled environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare specialized equipment and components for shipment using engineered crates and appropriate protective methods to prevent damage during transport.

• Interpret packing instructions, technical drawings, and documented procedures to complete work accurately and consistently.

• Operate hand tools and approved material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists, to move large or delicate assemblies safely.

• Conduct in-process checks during packing activities to verify materials and assemblies meet defined specifications.

• Complete packing records, checklists, and shipment labels with accuracy while meeting customer, export, and regulatory requirements.

• Examine crates and packaged materials for structural integrity, completeness, and any visible damage, then escalate issues when needed.

• Maintain compliance with internal quality expectations, safety practices, and controlled-environment procedures, including 7S standards.

• Partner with production, quality, and logistics personnel to coordinate packing readiness and assist with loading shipments onto outbound trucks.

Qualifications:

• Experience in logistics, packing, shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse or manufacturing support role.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, engineering drawings, and packaging specifications with close attention to detail.
• Familiarity with shipping functions, documentation practices, and labeling requirements for regulated or customer-specific shipments.
• Hands-on experience using common hand tools and material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to inspect packaged products and identify defects, missing items, or damage before shipment.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom or controlled setting while following established safety and organization procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with assembly, quality, and logistics teams.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
