Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice processing and payment activities for a manufacturing environment in Lancaster, Ohio. This Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment in coding and reconciliation work, and the ability to keep accounts payable operations organized and accurate. The role will work closely with internal teams to ensure invoices, payment records, and vendor transactions are handled efficiently and in line with established procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing them for payment.
• Assign correct general ledger or account codes to invoices and related payables transactions.
• Prepare and process scheduled payment batches, including check runs and electronic payments such as ACH transactions.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records in SAP and ensure supporting documentation is properly organized.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies to resolve payment or coding issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address invoice questions, payment status updates, and account concerns.
• Monitor payment deadlines to help ensure obligations are met according to agreed terms and company standards.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and record maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to code invoices accurately and apply appropriate account classifications.
• Experience supporting check runs and electronic payment activity, including ACH transactions.
• Working knowledge of SAP for accounts payable or related financial processing tasks.
• Background in a manufacturing company or another fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions while maintaining accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Compensation

$24.70-$28.60 Hourly
