Sr. Accountant

Our client, a well established non-profit organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in the organization’s accounting operations and financial reporting function. This individual will support the finance team by ensuring proper revenue recognition, accurate financial reporting, adherence to GAAP and assisting with budget and KPI analysis. This Senior Accountant role requires a hands-on candidate who is comfortable working cross-functionally, supporting audits and contributing to process improvements in a dynamic environment.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Participate in the monthly close cycle, including reviewing general ledger activity, preparing journal entries, investigating fluctuations, and reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Help maintain accurate books and records in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting standards
• Assisting with the financial statements and monthly management reporting packages
• Preparation of revenue reporting including deferred revenue analysis and calculations in accordance with GAAP
• Work with department leaders and other staff to review financial results and accounting treatments and roll out procedures
• Assist internal teams with expense and invoice coding to support accurate financial reporting
• Produce ad hoc financial reports, including performance metrics, month-end analysis, and quarter-end support schedules
• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting by analyzing historical results and financial trends
• Prepare audit support materials, schedules, and documentation for external audit requests during interim and year-end review activities
• Help maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal control practices
• Review reporting data used for internal business analysis and help ensure consistency and reliability
• Take on additional accounting and finance-related responsibilities as needed

Your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous experience within public accounting (audit ) a plus
• Experience working with multiple financial systems such as Sage Intacct
• CPA is a plus
• Proven skills in Excel including advanced functions and formulas
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP including with revenue recognition and deferred revenue

Compensation

$90,000.00-$105,000.00 Yearly
