Senior HRIS Analyst (Workday Payroll)

We are looking for an experienced Senior HRIS Analyst to lead Workday Payroll configuration and support in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role partners closely with payroll, human resources, IT, and business teams to strengthen system performance, improve processes, and maintain a reliable user experience. The position also contributes to testing, compliance, reporting, and ongoing optimization across payroll-related Workday functions, including Absence.

Responsibilities:
• Act as the lead functional resource for Workday Payroll by managing configuration, troubleshooting issues, validating changes, and providing day-to-day system support.
• Maintain and enhance Workday Absence functionality and coordinate with connected processes and integrations that influence payroll results.
• Partner with stakeholders to assess operational needs, uncover improvement opportunities, and design practical Workday solutions that support long-term scalability.
• Collect and translate business requirements into clear functional documentation, including process flows, specifications, and use cases for system updates.
• Administer payroll-related security access, workflow approvals, and business process settings while promoting data accuracy and control.
• Research production issues, identify root causes, and drive timely resolution to minimize disruption to payroll operations.
• Support releases, patches, and feature updates by planning and executing functional, regression, and smoke testing before deployment.
• Produce payroll and HR-related reports, respond to ad hoc reporting requests, and assist with audits, periodic reviews, and compliance documentation.
• Provide user guidance through training materials, job aids, and direct support while coordinating with service teams and external partners to sustain system reliability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, human resources, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including strong hands-on work with Workday Payroll configuration and support.
• Demonstrated experience with Workday Absence and a solid understanding of how absence data affects payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of Workday security, business processes, reporting, testing practices, and data validation methods.
• Ability to analyze business needs and convert them into effective functional solutions and clear system documentation.
• Experience resolving production issues and managing enhancements within a complex enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with system development life cycle practices, change control, and integrations related to HR and payroll systems.
• Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across HR, payroll, IT, and vendor teams.

Compensation

$120,000.00-$150,000.00 Yearly
