Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support core financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Lincoln, Rhode Island. This position focuses on maintaining accurate payment processing, customer invoicing, and account balancing while helping the organization keep day-to-day accounting activities running smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare customer invoices, monitor outgoing billing activity, and address discrepancies to support timely collections.
• Record, review, and reconcile financial transactions to maintain accurate accounting records across multiple accounts.
• Investigate variances in account balances and resolve outstanding issues through careful research and follow-up.
• Support month-end and periodic close activities by organizing financial data and preparing reconciliation details.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date records for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and related accounting transactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify payment, billing, and account questions and improve financial accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Working knowledge of billing procedures and general accounting operations.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in reviewing financial data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Compensation

$26.60-$30.80 Hourly
