Grant Accountant
Robert Half is seeking a Grant Accountant to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) team and support a large government organization in Olympia. This role will focus on managing complex grant accounting activities for federally funded programs, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and supporting financial reporting for large-scale public initiatives.

What You'll Do
- Manage the financial administration of federal, state, and local grants.
- Track grant expenditures and monitor budgets to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile grant-related financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Support grant audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance, grant agreements, and governmental accounting standards.
- Collaborate with program managers, finance leadership, and external funding agencies.
- Monitor grant spending, identify variances, and provide recommendations.
- Assist with reimbursement requests, drawdowns, and reporting deadlines.
- Perform account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation to satisfy audit and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with grant, fund, or governmental accounting.
- Experience managing federally funded grants and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting principles.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with government or municipal entities.
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Tyler Munis, Workday, Oracle, SAP, or similar government financial software.
- CPA, CGFM, or related certification is a plus.
Compensation
