Mental Health Counselor

Looking for Psychology or Social Work Graduates

Are you a compassionate, bilingual mental health professional who thrives in high-impact environments? We are seeking a Helpline Counselor to provide critical support through telephone-based crisis counseling, suicide intervention, assessments, and referrals for individuals in need.

This is more than a call center role—this is an opportunity to be a lifeline for callers facing urgent and often life-changing situations. We are looking for candidates who are not only clinically prepared, but also highly dependable, emotionally grounded, and flexible enough to work assigned shifts as needed for 24/7 coverage.

What You’ll Do

• Provide callers with accurate information and referrals to social service agencies
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify immediate and underlying needs
• Deliver telephone-based crisis counseling and suicide intervention
• Enter client and call data accurately into the database
• Complete timely, clear, and thorough documentation for every call
• Provide professional, compassionate, and trauma-informed customer service
• Attend trainings, workshops, seminars, and in-service programs
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and leadership
• Maintain strict adherence to assigned schedules
• Demonstrate flexibility based on call center and coverage needs
• Follow all confidentiality protocols, policies, and HIPAA requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
• Relevant professional experience applicable to the role
• Experience providing information and referrals
• At least 1 year of crisis counseling or clinical experience
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and computer systems
• Bilingual in English and either Spanish or Creole
• Must be able to work assigned shifts and demonstrate flexibility for coverage across various hours
