Accounting Assistant

Our client, an organization in the nonprofit/government sector located in Downtown Miami, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a temp-to-perm opportunity. This role will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, reconciliations, and general administrative accounting support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their accounting career in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
• Support bank and account reconciliations
• Prepare invoices, payment postings, and check requests
• Help maintain general ledger records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting
• Review transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Organize and maintain accounting files, records, and reports
• Provide administrative support to the accounting and finance team
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support experience
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
