Position Summary:
The Test Technician is responsible for setting up, performing, monitoring, and documenting environmental simulation testing in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company procedures. This position supports laboratory operations by preparing test samples, operating environmental test equipment, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring testing is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Essential Functions*:
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Review technical test reports for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and consistency.
- Interpret customer requirements, specifications and applicable industry standards to ensure proper test execution.
- Perform environmental testing including, but not limited to, temperature, humidity, thermal cycling, thermal shock, altitude, ingress protection (IP), salt fog, conditioning, and other customer-directed testing.
- Document test setups and product conditions before, during, and after testing as required.
- Notify laboratory management of equipment requiring maintenance, repair, or calibration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
- Prepare test samples and verify identification, condition, and documentation prior to testing.
Authority &Technical Support
- Operate forklifts and hoists, as authorized.
- Stop testing whenever unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or nonconforming conditions exist.
- Reject or delay testing when customer documentation, work instructions, equipment, or test setups are incomplete.
- Recommend equipment maintenance, repair, or calibration.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Exp
- Minimum of High School Diploma, 2+ years’ experience working in a laboratory,
- Minimum of High School Diploma
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, medical device, automotive, or testing environments preferred.
- Experience reading technical documentation is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and reasoning skills necessary to express ideas for improvement and accept alternative direction when required.
- Microsoft Office suite experience

Work Conditions/Physical Demands:
General lab/workshop environment includes sitting, standing, and walking; infrequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, and crouching. Work is completed in a lab environment that contains toxic materials with possible exposure to odors, acids, fumes, and other reactive materials.
