Project Description

Our customer is a utility in Arizona looking to add 2,000 MW of pumped storage energy to its overall capacity to meet growing demand on its network. We are building a high-performing joint venture team to deliver this complex EPC heavy civil project and are looking for motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers.

The project will involve the use of a lower reservoir and the creation of an upper reservoir through the construction of new dams. The reservoirs will be connected by underground waterways tunneled into the rock, channeling water down the approximately 1,200-foot drop between the two reservoirs. The project scope includes significant access road development, construction of the upper reservoir with dams and an overflow spillway, underground tunnel waterways in challenging geological and hydrogeological conditions, upper and lower reservoir inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, an underground powerhouse, and surface site facilities and buildings.

This is your opportunity to be part of a truly historic project.

The BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the lifecycle of this large-scale EPC heavy civil project. Working closely with engineering, construction, project controls, and field operations, the BIM Coordinator will ensure accurate model development, coordination, clash detection, and model integration to improve project planning, constructability, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate BIM activities across engineering disciplines, construction teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage federated 3D models throughout design and construction.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate resolution meetings using BIM coordination software.
  • Ensure models comply with project BIM standards, execution plans, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate design changes into project models.
  • Support construction planning by utilizing BIM for sequencing, logistics planning, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate model updates and maintain version control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist field personnel with model navigation and interpretation using digital construction tools.
  • Generate drawings, visualizations, quantity takeoffs, and construction documentation from BIM models.
  • Support project controls by integrating BIM with scheduling (4D) and cost management (5D) initiatives when applicable.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and provide technical BIM support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency through digital construction technologies.
  • Maintain project BIM documentation, standards, and workflows.
  • Train and support project team members on BIM software and best practices.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting dams, tunneling, hydroelectric, underground construction, mining, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and ISO 19650 standards.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering models.
  • Familiarity with laser scanning, reality capture, and point cloud integration.
