Leidos currently has a contingent opening for a Senior Communications Team Lead to work in our Reston, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Defense Health Agency and Military Health System mission. In this mission we support Government teams delivering communications and public affairs support to the Director’s Communications and Public Affairs Division (DCPAD) and the Military Health System Communications and Public Affairs Division (CPAD).
The successful candidate will help advance high-quality, data-driven, innovative, and reliable communications solutions that drive measurable results across the defense health enterprise. This work includes developing strategic messaging, providing exceptional counsel, and creating products and communications that clearly convey organizational priorities, objectives, and values to stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the American public. The role supports efforts to transparently tell the DHA story, strengthen the DHA brand, and ensure communications are synchronized, strategic, impactful, and aligned with mission priorities. In addition, this position contributes to direct communications support for senior Health Affairs leadership and coordinates across key partners, including the Defense Health Agency, Uniformed Services University, military medical departments, and other senior Department of Defense public affairs and personnel offices. Through skilled communications leadership and collaboration, this position helps foster trust, understanding, and mission success across both DCPAD and MHS CPAD.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Communications Team Lead shall lead and manage all work and special projects and programs for the respective division in coordination with the COR and the communications Government teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree with 8+ years of experience creating dynamic communications plans for a variety topic and leading a diverse team.
- Extensive and proven strategic communications planning experience with identified measured results accomplished.
- Integrated strategic communications plans, social media, media relations, internal communications and strategic outreach experience.
- Experience in overseeing analytics and measurement of communications impact.
- Possess the ability and experience in writing and coordinating Public Affairs Guidance.
- Must have excellent and proven oral and written communications experience.
- Must have the ability to lead people and manage and execute multiple strategic communications plans simultaneously, both in execution phase and planning phase.
- Experience writing for senior leaders in the MHS, other DoD activities, or healthcare industry including speeches, OP-ED's, news articles, and messages for executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military or civilian service is preferable.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
