About the Job
The Rental Director coordinates and directs all activities for one or more departments within a 273k sq. ft. Distribution Center. Aids executive teams in formulating and administering organizational policies by performing the following functions personally or through subordinate managers. The successful candidate must be able to provide effective leadership in a customer first, fast-paced, time sensitive operation.
 
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities:
The responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following:
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies, directing, and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Confers with the VP Tuxedo Rental and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from status and conditions
  • Develops, reviews, updates, and implements business strategic planning, including financial performance and strategies
  • Oversees building to resolve operational, logistics and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth
  • Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data, and analysis
  • Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning, and submittal for capital expenditures
  • Maintain a high-quality work environment through employee relations, company events and employee safety insuring employees’ morale are kept at a high standard
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development
  • Ensure current and accurate inventory of every product line in the DC
  • Provide Management with operational plans (Production and Resource planning)
  • Provide weekly and monthly operational analysis
  • Conduct daily planning meetings with all Tuxedo Rental functional managers
  • Ensure departmental best practices and procedures are used by staff
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are in proper working order
  • Review, implement and track metrics (KPI’s) to measure efficiency of production processes and update as needed by performing time studies as continuous improvement is expected with a 5% return annually
  • Document and track formal training, counseling, and annual performance appraisals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams always having an eye for the impact on the company overall
  • Occasional travel is expected with this position
  • Special projects as needed.
 

Skills & Experience:
  • 4-year degree
  • Two years of experience in a hands-on Management role preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center environment with a high degree of responsibility
  • Prior Management experience in production, distribution, warehouse environment
  • Must be hands-on with strong leadership skills and the demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and lead team members
  • Knowledge of a Management Operating System (MOS)
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary programs.
  • Must have working knowledge of reporting software, TMS, AL systems, Putty, Patti Systems and WMOS.
  • Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radio frequency scanners, material handling equipment and machinery, sorter systems, conveyors, metal hooks, plastic bags and packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise
  • Good communication and people skills are required with excellent command of the English language
  • Effective time management, conflict management, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • High initiative in providing proactive efforts in seeking solutions to problems and willingness to take on new tasks, challenges, and opportunities
  • Proven experience working with all levels of employees and management and ability to garner the loyalty and trust of direct reports
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, and follow-through skills
  • Must always maintain a professional and positive attitude with the highest level of customer service
  • Must be goal-oriented and task driven to meet deadlines
  • Possess a sense of urgency to work in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods through the day. Pay
The starting rate for this position is $141,107 to $188,157 and may increase to $235,206 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining the final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable. Other compensation may include a 20% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy.
