Senior Systems Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support and modernize enterprise infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for maintaining the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of critical IT systems while helping drive cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in systems administration, virtualization, networking, storage, Active Directory, and firewall management, along with hands-on experience supporting cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.
- Manage enterprise networking infrastructure and ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Configure and maintain firewall policies and security controls.
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Perform operating system upgrades, patch management, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Support and manage VMware virtualized environments.
- Administer hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring solutions.
- Develop automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments to improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct system audits and ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues while providing high-quality technical support.
- Maintain documentation including system configurations, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and project updates.
- Manage Active Directory, domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Support enterprise storage technologies and backup solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformation projects.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions and support business objectives.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Administration, Network Administration, or a related role.
- Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, including:
- Windows Server
- Linux
- Active Directory
- DNS/DHCP
- Storage platforms
- Virtualization technologies
- Networking
- Hands-on VMware administration experience.
- Experience designing and supporting hybrid environments that integrate on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of cloud networking, identity management, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar technologies.
- Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong firewall administration and network management experience.
- Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services.
- Experience managing enterprise storage and backup solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing vendors and supporting infrastructure projects from planning through execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as:
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- VMware VCP
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Experience implementing DevOps and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and IT documentation standards.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, or similar tools.
Compensation
