Medical Collections Manager
Our client in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas is seeking an experienced Healthcare Collections Manager to lead and develop a high-performing collections team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep expertise in hospital and physician collections, strong knowledge of insurance billing, coding terminology, out of network collections, and a proven ability to drive department performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the healthcare collections department.
Supervise, coach, and develop staff to ensure team goals and departmental objectives are achieved.
Manage hospital and physician collections processes with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and productivity.
Monitor workflows, resolve escalated collection issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Partner effectively with internal teams and leadership across the organization.
Maintain open, professional, and respectful communication with employees at all levels.
Ensure strong data integrity through accurate documentation, reporting, and system usage.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.• 1–2 years of experience leading or supervising staff in a collections or revenue cycle environment.
• 7–10 years of experience in healthcare collections, including both hospital and physician account follow-up.
• Strong understanding of insurance billing concepts and medical coding terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to coach teams, manage performance, and drive achievement of departmental goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with solid computer proficiency and accurate data entry abilities.
• Knowledge of out-of-network collections and familiarity with the No Surprises Act are preferred.
Compensation
