Property Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in San Francisco, California. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in accounting processes and systems, particularly in the property management sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing expense allocations, processing property tax refunds, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the allocation of expenses across different departments and projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Process property tax refunds efficiently and maintain detailed records for auditing purposes.
• Collaborate with directors and teams across multiple agencies to streamline expenditure tracking and reporting.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite and Excel to perform essential accounting functions.
• Maintain organized administrative records and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks with precision.
• Monitor and report on cash activity to ensure proper financial management.
• Assist in preparing and managing budgets related to property operations.
• Ensure adherence to established accounting standards and practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the property management field.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including NetSuite and SharePoint.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Strong knowledge of expense allocation procedures and property tax return processes.

• Experience handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting.

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

• Availability to work onsite initially and transition to remote work after ramp-up.

Compensation

$40.00-$50.00 Hourly
