Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a financial services organization. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can step into a lean team environment and help maintain accurate financial records, support month-end activities, and strengthen balance sheet integrity. The role will focus on general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid expense management while using Sage Intacct to keep reporting timely and reliable.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.

• Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, and other month-end adjustments.

• Complete detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Perform bank reconciliations and confirm cash activity is properly reflected in the financial records.

• Support the monthly close process by organizing schedules, validating balances, and meeting reporting deadlines.

• Maintain supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts and help improve the accuracy of financial reporting.

• Provide accounting support to a lean team structure by managing priorities independently and assisting where coverage is needed.

• Use Sage Intacct to process accounting activity, generate reports, and support ongoing financial operations.

• Assist with accounting responsibilities connected to organizational changes and shifting business needs when required.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience with strong exposure to senior-level general ledger responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Hands-on knowledge of account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Practical experience with accrual accounting, including accrual preparation and prepaid expense tracking.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct and confidence working within accounting systems to manage daily transactions and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and maintain accurate financial data.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited oversight and changing business demands.

Compensation

$35.63-$41.25 Hourly
