Sr. Property Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr Property Accountant to join our team in California. This role is ideal for a finance specialist who can maintain accurate records, support timely close activities, and strengthen the integrity of daily accounting operations. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across core accounting functions while partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure reliable financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing transactions, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and verifying proper account classification.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation to reflect routine and non-routine business transactions.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and preserve balance sheet accuracy.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate variances between bank records and internal accounts.
• Review accounting data for completeness and consistency, making corrections as needed to support dependable financial statements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, clarify accounting matters, and improve reporting accuracy
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
• Expertise in commercial real estate property accounting
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close processes and related deadline-driven responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.
• Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical skills, organizational ability, and commitment to maintaining precise financial records.
