Carrier Payment Analyst

We are seeking a Carrier Reconciliation Specialist for a contract opportunity in Fort Worth, Texas. This role supports a high-volume, KPI-driven accounting operation by processing carrier payments, reconciling statements and account activity, and resolving transaction discrepancies. The ideal candidate is highly accurate, organized, and comfortable researching complex issues while managing multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Process carrier payments and related financial transactions accurately and within established deadlines.

• Review carrier statements and compare payment activity against internal accounting records.

• Identify and research discrepancies involving invoices, commissions, balances, and account activity.

• Partner with internal departments and external carrier contacts to gather information and resolve outstanding issues.

• Prepare account reconciliations, payment summaries, and supporting schedules.

• Monitor open balances and follow up on aging or unresolved transactions.

• Maintain complete and accurate payment records within the company’s financial systems.

• Organize supporting documentation to ensure transactions are easy to research and audit.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account review and reconciliation support.

• Respond to questions regarding payments, balances, and transaction activity.

• Meet established KPIs for transaction volume, accuracy, turnaround time, and issue resolution.

• Recommend improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce payment errors.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, payment processing, account reconciliation, commission accounting, or a related accounting function.

• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working in a high-volume, metrics-driven environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.

• Ability to research discrepancies and follow open items through resolution.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external contacts.
