Legal Assistant

Fort Myers, FL 33901, US Temporary
Compensation: $19 to $22 Hourly

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy legal practice in Fort Myers, Florida on a Contract basis with the possibility of going permanent on a hybrid schedule. This position combines administrative coordination with legal support, helping maintain organized case materials, client communication, and document preparation across personal injury and criminal defense matters. The ideal candidate brings strong follow-through, sound judgment, and the ability to manage routine legal tasks efficiently in a fast-paced office environment.


Responsibilities:

• Organize and upload discovery materials into firm file systems to keep case records accurate, accessible, and up to date.

• Complete preapproved legal forms and straightforward contract documents, then distribute them to clients with payment links for review and signature.

• Handle day-to-day office support such as printing, scanning, filing, mailing, and maintaining orderly legal documentation.

• Assemble trial binders and supporting case materials so attorneys are prepared for hearings, meetings, and court proceedings.

• Serve as a point of contact for clients by answering basic case-related questions and maintaining consistent communication when attorneys are unavailable.

• Coordinate appointments related to personal injury matters, including contacting medical providers, arranging visits, and sharing insurance information as needed.

• Assist with court-related documentation, including filing support and preparation of materials in accordance with legal and administrative requirements.

• Manage scheduling and calendar updates to help track deadlines, meetings, and other case activities.


Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in a Legal Assistant or similar legal support position.
• Background supporting personal injury and criminal defense matters is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of legal document preparation, court filings, and e-filing procedures.
• Experience preparing trial notebooks, binders, and other materials used for trial preparation.
• Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage filing, correspondence, and document organization accurately.
• Proven ability to coordinate appointments, maintain calendars, and communicate professionally with clients and external contacts.
• High attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
