Payroll Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Manage equity compensation administration for public company programs, including restricted stock units and stock option activity, while maintaining accuracy and policy compliance.
• Examine payroll transactions connected to equity events to confirm proper tax treatment, withholding calculations, and reporting outcomes.
• Support accounting activities tied to equity compensation by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and period-end close deliverables.
• Coordinate tax-related equity reporting requirements, including year-end wage reporting and applicable compliance filings.
• Work with global payroll partners to facilitate international equity processing, including localized coordination and currency-related considerations.
• Provide support for Canadian payroll matters, including compliance monitoring, reporting needs, and payroll-related administration.
• Investigate discrepancies in payroll and equity records, resolve issues efficiently, and recommend improvements that strengthen control and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources, and external vendors to maintain smooth daily operations and consistent data integrity.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience handling payroll operations and equity administration within a public company environment.• Strong knowledge of the payroll impact of equity compensation, including taxation, withholding, and financial reporting implications.
• Background reviewing payroll tax reporting, equity-related payroll activity, and close processes for accuracy and compliance.
• Proven analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a fast-moving, growth-oriented organization.
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and third-party providers.
• Experience with payroll platforms and systems such as ADP Workforce Now, along with familiarity with equity and financial tools like Equity Edge, TriNet Payroll, or NetSuite.
• Exposure to multi-state payroll, Canadian payroll, international payroll, and payroll volumes exceeding 500 employees.
