Medical Receptionist
Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients upon arrival, manage the check-in process, and help ensure each visit starts smoothly and professionally.
• Respond to incoming phone calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and provide helpful information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, confirm visit details, and adjust the calendar as needed to support daily office flow.
• Review, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information to keep records accurate and complete.
• Maintain an organized front desk and assist with day-to-day clerical tasks that support the clinical team.
• Contribute to administrative operations by preparing paperwork, handling documentation, and supporting general office needs.
• If transitioned into the longer-term opportunity, assist with insurance verification and review coverage details prior to billing.
• Support billing activities through SimplePractice, including claim submission, claim follow-up, and related payment posting tasks.
• Help review coding-related documentation and assist with routine billing administration in alignment with office procedures.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in reception, office administration, or customer-facing support roles is required.• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in sensitive situations.
• Proven organizational ability, dependable attendance, and comfort managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced office setting.
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new software platforms efficiently.
• Ability to remain composed, empathetic, and discreet when working with patients experiencing emotional or difficult circumstances.
• Experience in a medical office or healthcare front desk environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical billing, insurance claims, coding concepts, or platforms such as SimplePractice is preferred.
Compensation
