Budget Accountant
Prepare, monitor, and reconcile departmental and organizational budgets.
Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations to leadership.
Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit and/or education funding requirements.
Support month-end and year-end budget reconciliation processes.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Collaborate with finance and program teams to monitor expenditures.
Assist with grant and fund accounting as needed.
Identify process improvements to enhance budgeting efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of budgeting or accounting experience.
Previous experience in a nonprofit organization or educational institution is required.
Hands-on experience with MIP Fund Accounting and Sage software is required.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
