The Landis Lead is responsible for operating the Landis machine while coordinating daily production, assigning work, and maintaining lathe equipment. This hands-on role ensures projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule while supporting overall shop efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Operate the Landis machine to produce high-quality threaded pipe and fabricated components.
- Schedule and prioritize Landis projects to meet production deadlines.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and perform machining operations as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on Landis and lathe equipment.
- Inspect finished work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with the Shop Foreperson and production team to maximize efficiency and meet customer expectations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating Landis, lathe, or other machining equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience performing basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to take precise measurements.
- Ability to prioritize work, stay organized, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
