Purpose:

To fill a critical staffing gap on the ERS Tools Development team (carrier-facing), where a backlog of almost 1,100 development hours and over 700 QA hours has accumulated with no available resources to address it. This gap is a direct result of the Tools Development and QA team being fully reassigned to support high-priority strategic initiatives — Coral, AtlasCore, and the broader AI initiative — leaving no dedicated capacity to maintain and advance the Tools that underpin our carrier customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Work through the prioritized development backlog as outlined in the attached request from Tool Product Manager Nate Molsee
  • Collaborate effectively with the ERS Tools team and relevant stakeholders
  • Produce thorough design documentation, implementation, unit tests, and technical documentation for all delivered work
  • Follow all company development guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Adhere to all stated ISO policies and quality requirements

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a fourth-year Computer Science student (or related field) in good standing with a GPA of 3.3 (B+) or higher
  • Proficiency in Java development, C++ is a plus
  • Well versed with database technologies such as Postgres
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, including design, implementation, unit testing, and documentation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks against a defined backlog
  • Experience with or exposure to software quality assurance practices is a plus
  • Must have hands-on experience working within company development guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Must have directly contributed to multiple ERS Tools, including implementing new features
  • Must demonstrate working familiarity with the broader ERS Tools ecosystem
  • Prior experience producing design documentation, unit tests, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Desired start date is 9/1/2026.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in the final year of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field at an accredited university
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.3 (B+) or higher in good academic standing
