| Position Summary | The Dental Front Office & Treatment Coordinator performs administrative duties; greets patients and schedules appointments; provides information about dental services, insurance, and eligibility; and maintains patient records. The Dental Front Office & Treatment Coordinator is a steward of the clinic schedule, enters and generates dental treatment plans, and communicates information to patients regarding treatment needs. The position is responsible for reviewing treatment recommendations with patients, tracking appointments/treatment plan completion, and patient follow up. This position is also responsible for discussing patient’s dental insurance coverage and treatment cost. The Dental Front Office & Treatment Coordinator requires a moderate degree of judgment and application of standard office procedures. This position interacts with a variety of individuals including patients, students, co-workers, dental providers, managers and the campus community, and provides support to students who may be experiencing medical or psychological distress. The Dental Front Office and Treatment Coordinator also supports the dental staff and acts as a liaison between the patients and Dental Services providers. |
| Minimum Qualifications from Classification | Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience. Note: College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. |

| Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $19.36/hour and $21.91/hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities. |
