Job Description

IDS is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Specialist to support mission training and exercise requirements through the development of modeling and simulation scenarios. The selected candidate will support virtual and constructive simulation environments, terrain development, and scenario creation in support of Army Mission Command and Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVCG) systems.

Key Duties

• Develop scenarios using Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4.

• Build three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects.

• Support constructive and virtual computer simulations.

• Perform video editing and author modeling and simulation scenarios.

• Support Army Mission Command and LVCG systems.

• Support modeling and simulation development activities.

Requirements

• Secret clearance.

• Associate degree. Four years of related military experience may substitute for academic degree.

• Two years of experience developing scenarios with Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4.

• Familiarity with building three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects using a variety of software.

• Experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations, video editing, and authoring of modeling/simulation scenarios.

• Knowledge of Army Mission Command and/or Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVCG) Systems.

• Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or .NET.

• Knowledge of military operational concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work with self-initiative after receiving initial task guidance.

• Ability to follow project schedules and meet designated completion dates.

• Comfortable working as a member of a Modeling/Simulations team, accepting guidance and providing recommendations based on project analysis.
