Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support daily financial operations for an onsite role in Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract opportunity is expected to run for approximately four months and offers the chance to contribute across payables, receivables, and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, adapts quickly to new tools and processes, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with training provided.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and help maintain accurate and timely accounts payable records.
• Support accounts receivable activities by preparing billing information, monitoring incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances as needed.
• Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and keep financial data aligned across records.
• Review and organize accounting data to improve accuracy, including cleanup of incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent information.
• Assist with routine accounting tasks that contribute to smooth month-to-month financial operations and reporting.
• Learn internal systems and workflows quickly, applying training effectively to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members on onsite financial processes during standard Monday through Friday business hours.
• Provide dependable coverage for an existing team need while maintaining productivity and attention to deadlines.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, data cleanup, or broader accounting support functions, ideally within construction, engineering or HVAC organizations.

• Practical knowledge of invoice processing, billing, account reconciliation, and general accounting procedures.

• Ability to work in a permanent onsite role in Columbus, Ohio, on a Monday through Friday schedule.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume transactional work accurately.

• Comfort using accounting systems and digital tools, with the ability to learn new technology quickly.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

• Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented, team-oriented approach to daily work.

Compensation

$25.00-$28.00 Hourly
