Estimator

A growing specialty contractor is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Flooring Estimator to join its team. This position plays a key role in the preconstruction process by preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing costs, and supporting the successful acquisition of commercial projects throughout the region.

The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing construction documents, preparing bids, and working with project stakeholders to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Develop and submit competitive bid proposals
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and occasional site visits
• Collaborate with operations teams during project handoff
• Maintain pricing information and supplier relationships
• Track bid activity and support continuous process improvements
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Commercial flooring estimating experience
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry specifications
• Experience working with project management or ERP software
