Payroll Supervisor
Responsibilities:
• Oversee complete payroll administration for employees working across multiple states, ensuring each cycle is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Validate earnings, overtime, incentive payments, employee repayments, and deductions before payroll is finalized.
• Examine payroll records and perform reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies ahead of processing deadlines.
• Administer garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, and other required withholdings in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Assign labor expenses correctly to projects, departments, and cost centers to support job costing and financial reporting needs.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries, balance account activity, and deliver reporting support to finance and accounting partners.
• Use advanced Excel tools to analyze payroll information, reconcile data, and produce recurring and ad hoc reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate employee data and strengthen payroll process efficiency and control.
• Assist with audits and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and wage statement preparation.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of payroll experience, with a strong preference for progressively responsible payroll ownership.• Practical experience processing payroll for employees in more than one state.
• Solid understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour rules, and compliance obligations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Hands-on experience handling garnishments, levies, child support deductions, and related payroll adjustments.
• Background in full-cycle payroll processing, including weekly and biweekly payroll schedules.
• Experience supporting job costing, labor distribution, or project-based payroll tracking.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, reconcile issues, and support reporting needs.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while managing sensitive information.
Compensation
