Assistant Store Manager

Robert Half is getting ready for the Holiday Season with one of our most festive clients. Our client is a global, eCommerce retailer that focuses on selling high end holiday and home décor. They will be opening up their pop-up store in Burlingame mid-September. If you are a fan of the holidays, especially Christmas, this is a great opportunity for you. Shift Schedule: Looking for candidates who are openly available Monday through Sunday from 9AM – 7PM

Duration: September 14 – January 8th

Location: Burlingame (1.2 Miles from Bart

Leadership & Store Operations

• Support daily store operations and floor execution
• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned
• Lead and direct Sales and Stock associates throughout the shift
• Support opening and closing procedures
• Ensure store policies, operational standards, and company expectations are consistently followed
• Maintain awareness of staffing coverage, workflow priorities, and business needs
• Assist with labor deployment, task delegation, and operational execution throughout the day

Sales Floor Management

• Monitor customer experience and sales floor engagement
• Ensure associates are actively greeting, assisting, and interacting with customers
• Support sales performance, productivity, and store goals
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify replenishment, recovery, and presentation needs

Stock & Inventory Operations

• Monitor replenishment flow between stockroom and sales floor
• Ensure stock areas remain organized, clean, safe, and operationally efficient
• Assist with inventory-related processes, adjustments, and operational follow-up
• Support inventory accuracy and overall merchandise flow throughout the store

Team Leadership & Development

• Coach associates on elevated service expectations, presentation standards, and customer engagement
• Coach associates on customer service, operational execution, and workplace expectations
• Assist with onboarding and training new employees
• Help manage break schedules, shift coverage, and daily task assignments
• Promote accountability, professionalism, communication, and teamwork across all staff
• Provide ongoing support and feedback to associates throughout the shift

Administrative & Reporting Support

• Communicate operational updates and important store information to leadership
• Support store reporting, operational documentation, and daily business communication
• Provide observations and feedback related to sales trends, staffing, workflow, and operational performance

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Previous retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience within premium retail, hospitality, food service, or other service-driven environments strongly preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards
• Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to changing business demands
• Adhere to company appearance, safety, and dress code standards
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, and Excel
• Comfortable utilizing POS systems and inventory management platforms
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
