Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in California. This onsite role supports day-to-day accounting operations, purchasing coordination, and customer-facing administrative tasks in a collaborative environment. This is a contract position with a 3-month initial term, offering an opportunity to contribute across financial processes while helping keep records accurate and operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
• Manage purchase order creation and maintain organized tracking for open and completed orders.
• Handle daily invoice processing, verify supporting details, and respond promptly to supplier questions.
• Record incoming customer payments accurately and apply them to the appropriate quotes or accounts.
• Communicate order progress, production timing, and shipping status updates to customers as needed.
• Work closely with the sales team to address customer needs and support order-related follow-up.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities, including preparing supporting documentation and sales tax-related tasks.
• Prepare payroll calculations and commission payment details with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintain complete financial records, perform bank-related administrative tasks, and safeguard sensitive information.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or a related finance function.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with invoicing, purchase order processing, payroll support, and month-end close activities.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data and documentation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for vendor, customer, and internal team interactions.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently while maintaining reliability and confidentiality.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
