Sr Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations for a portfolio of real estate assets in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys producing accurate reports, managing deadlines, and partnering with property teams to maintain strong financial performance. You will play a key part in day-to-day accounting activities while delivering reliable information to clients, owners, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and ensure financial data is accurate and complete.

• Lead month-end close activities for assigned properties, including reviewing transactions and finalizing supporting schedules.

• Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and other key ledgers to resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Produce timely financial statements and reports that support property operations and client decision-making.

• Work closely with property managers and other internal teams to address accounting questions and support reporting needs.

• Coordinate with tenants, vendors, and property owners to research issues, clarify account activity, and maintain accurate records.

• Monitor deadlines across recurring accounting tasks and ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.
• Experience completing account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet established deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, tenants, property owners, and vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, but not required.

Compensation

$80,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
