Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule in alignment with U.S. accounting standards and company policies.
• Create and assess journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain reliable financial records.
• Manage general ledger activity and validate balance sheet accounts to support complete and accurate reporting.
• Produce financial statements, internal management reporting, and analytical summaries for accounting and operational leadership.
• Work closely with plant and operations leaders to review results, explain cost movements, and highlight opportunities to strengthen performance.
• Support manufacturing finance activities such as product costing, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold analysis, and review of production-related variances.
• Evaluate material, labor, overhead, spending, and volume trends to identify operational drivers and provide insight into business performance.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, and monthly comparisons of actual results against financial targets.
• Assist with inventory-related controls, including physical counts, cycle counts, reconciliations, reserve analysis, and audit readiness.
• Use tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and JD Edwards to analyze data, improve reporting quality, and deliver ad hoc financial insight for business decisions.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience managing month-end close activities within an accounting environment.• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Experience supporting financial reporting, balance sheet analysis, and management reporting.
• Familiarity with manufacturing accounting concepts, including inventory, cost of goods sold, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort using reporting or ERP platforms such as Power BI and JD Edwards.
• Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional leaders and communicate financial information clearly.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical skills and a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
Compensation
