Patient Financial Access Facilitator
About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected healthcare organization in Trumbull, CT, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Registration Specialist to join their team. This position plays a vital role in creating a positive patient experience by serving as the first point of contact for patients and ensuring the accurate collection and verification of demographic, insurance, and financial information.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and authorization requirements.
- Collect and process patient copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments as needed.
- Ensure accuracy of demographic, insurance, and medical information.
- Obtain required patient signatures and documentation.
- Answer incoming phone calls and address patient inquiries.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with clinical, billing, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient services.
- Resolve registration issues and insurance discrepancies in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- 1+ years of patient registration, medical reception, medical office, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical insurance plans, eligibility verification, and patient intake procedures.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.

Compensation
