Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a Hi Tech Engineering organization in Fremont, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for a finance specialist who can balance accounts receivable responsibilities with broader accounting support in a fast-paced environment. The role will contribute to accurate reporting, timely collections, and reliable financial records while partnering with internal teams across the business.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounts receivable activities by preparing invoices, posting transactions, and monitoring customer payment status.
• Drive collection efforts on open balances, escalate issues when needed, and work directly with customers to secure timely resolution.
• Contribute to recurring accounting operations and assist with close activities at month-end and quarter-end.
• Support quarterly financial reporting and provide analysis that helps the finance team review performance and account activity.
• Complete account reconciliations and maintain well-organized records that support accuracy in the general ledger.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to investigate billing concerns, correct discrepancies, and improve collection timelines.
• Prepare journal entries and provide general accounting assistance across core finance processes.
• Use tools such as Oracle Cloud or Oracle Fusion and advanced Excel functions to manage data, reporting, and transaction review.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on involvement with accounts receivable or closely related functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Experience supporting corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return processes is beneficial.
• Background in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Clear communication skills and a high level of accuracy when working with financial data.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud or Oracle Fusion is strongly preferred, along with advanced Excel capability.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
