Attorney/Lawyer

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Attorney to support employee benefits compliance work for health and welfare plans . This Long-term Contract position focuses on providing legal guidance, preparing plan-related documentation, and helping clients meet ERISA obligations with accuracy and consistency. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with brokers, employer groups, and internal professionals to deliver practical compliance solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and update health and welfare benefit plan materials, including summary plan descriptions, wrap documents, amendments, participant notices, and other required communications.

• Provide legal support for Form 5500 activities by assisting with document review, preparation needs, and filing-related questions.

• Counsel insurance brokers and employer clients on ERISA rules that apply to employee health and welfare benefit programs.

• Evaluate plan administration and documentation practices to determine whether reporting, disclosure, and governance standards are being met.

• Detect areas of noncompliance and outline corrective actions that are practical, timely, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

• Track changes in laws, regulations, and guidance affecting employee benefits, and translate those developments into clear recommendations for clients and teams.

• Work in partnership with colleagues across the organization to deliver compliance services that are thorough, responsive, and detail-oriented.

• Contribute to the enhancement of internal templates, workflows, and service resources related to ERISA compliance support.

Qualifications:

• Active license to practice law.
• Demonstrated experience working with ERISA and employee benefits matters, particularly health and welfare plans.
• Strong knowledge of plan documentation requirements, disclosure obligations, and compliance communications.
• Familiarity with Form 5500 review and filing support processes.
• Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and apply legal requirements to client-specific situations.
• Excellent drafting and revision skills for legal and compliance-related documents.
• Strong analytical judgment with the ability to identify compliance risks and recommend effective solutions.

Compensation

$60.00-$75.00 Hourly
