Strategic Finance Manager

We are looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to join a growing organization in San Francisco, California on a Long-term Contract basis. This role is ideal for a finance specialist who can quickly step into a high-impact environment, lead critical modeling and performance analysis, and provide decision support across revenue, customer, and fundraising priorities. The position will play a central role in strengthening financial insights, improving reporting processes, and helping leadership navigate key strategic initiatives during an important period of growth.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and refine the company’s integrated three-statement financial model to improve reliability, usability, and analytical depth for ongoing planning needs.
• Lead month-end customer-level performance analysis, including retention trends, and enhance the methods used to measure business results.
• Analyze recurring revenue behavior through cohort reviews, focusing on customer retention, expansion patterns, and churn indicators.
• Develop and refresh investor-facing financial analyses and supporting materials to prepare leadership for fundraising discussions and diligence requests.
• Create more efficient Excel- and Power Query-based workflows that reduce manual data handling and support repeatable reporting processes.
• Verify and reconcile revenue and customer information across financial records, billing sources, and Salesforce data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Produce scenario models, sensitivity assessments, and other ad hoc analyses that inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Contribute to go-to-market, revenue, and cross-functional financial analysis by partnering with sales, marketing, and revenue operations teams.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in finance, FP& A, strategic finance, or related analytical roles with the ability to contribute immediately in a hands-on setting.

• Proven experience building and managing an integrated three-statement model covering income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.

• Background in investment banking, buy-side finance, consulting, corporate development, transaction advisory, or financial due diligence.

• Demonstrated expertise in customer-level revenue analysis, recurring revenue metrics, cohort reporting, retention measurement, and churn evaluation.

• Experience supporting fundraising activity through financial presentations, diligence materials, or data room preparation.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Query, with the ability to streamline reporting and automate data preparation.

• Familiarity with Salesforce and the ability to work across sales and finance data sources; experience in SaaS or health-tech environments is a plus.

• Strong financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis skills, along with a flexible and solutions-oriented approach.

Compensation

$75.00-$85.00 Hourly
