Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager to support contract-based initiatives in Menlo Park, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can coordinate complex efforts across multiple teams, maintain strong governance practices, and keep projects moving on schedule. The role calls for someone with a structured approach to delivery, experience working in regulated or public-sector environments, and the ability to guide civil engineering-related work from planning through execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead project planning and execution for civil engineering and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring scope, milestones, and deliverables remain clearly defined.

• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to align priorities, resolve issues, and maintain momentum across project activities.

• Establish project governance processes, track progress against timelines and budgets, and provide regular status updates to leadership.

• Apply formal project management methods to manage risks, dependencies, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.

• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and decision-making sessions to support collaboration and timely project advancement.

• Use Agile Scrum principles where appropriate to organize work, improve team coordination, and adapt to evolving project needs.

• Ensure documentation, reporting, and compliance activities are completed accurately to support organizational and regulatory expectations.

• Support projects involving government-related requirements by maintaining attention to standards, approvals, and stakeholder communication.

• Monitor project performance and recommend practical adjustments to improve delivery outcomes and operational efficiency

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of project management experience overseeing structured, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of formal project management practices, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
• PMP certification or a comparable recognized project management credential.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects that involve coordination across diverse teams and business areas.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum concepts and the ability to apply them in an appropriate project setting.
• Background in civil engineering projects or environments with similar technical and regulatory demands.
• Experience working within government, public-sector, or highly governed environments.
• Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation

$43.54-$50.41 Hourly
