Staff Accountant

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established company in the government contracting and manufacturing industry to identify a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger experience who enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting activities
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate accounting records in NetSuite
• Support accounting activities related to government contracting and manufacturing operations
• Assist with audit requests and other special accounting projects

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Experience with month-end close and journal entries
• NetSuite experience strongly preferred
• Manufacturing, government contracting, aerospace, defense, or project-based accounting experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
