Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role will support critical finance and operational processes by performing data cleaning, mapping, validation, reconciliations, and billing support during the close process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring data accuracy across systems. This role is hybrid with 1-2 days onsite in office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, organize, and maintain large volumes of data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Perform data mapping between systems and validate data conversions, transformations, and integrations.
• Review and validate data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with business rules.
• Conduct reconciliations across multiple data sources and investigate discrepancies.
• Support billing activities during month-end close, including validating billing data and resolving exceptions.
• Partner with finance, operations, and business teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Analyze data issues, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to reconciliations, billing, and data quality.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed. Based on general knowledge.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data validation, reconciliations, billing, or related work.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience with SQL, ERP systems, or reporting tools is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment, especially during month-end close.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting finance or accounting operations. Based on general knowledge.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Workday, QuickBooks, Microsoft D365, or Python can be valuable for data-focused and finance-related environments.
• Background in billing, close support, or financial reconciliations is a plus.
