Job Summary
The Markey Cancer Center is currently hiring a Research Coordinator (Survivorship Research Program Manager) to support a new research initiative. This position will provide essential administrative, research, and technical support to Initiative leadership to advance survivorship research at Markey. As described below, duties will include providing research proposal development support, communication management and partnership building, event and program planning, and administration and strategic planning. Pre-award research support will entail assisting with the development of human subjects and clinical trial documents for research proposals and developing protocols for regulatory submissions for Just-in-Time requests from funders. Communication management and partnership building will require serving as the front-line interface between Initiative leadership and varied stakeholders (e.g. investigators, clinicians, community partners, other units on campus). Event and program planning will require conception to post-event coordination and management for speaker series, research events, and other events led by the Initiative.

A successful candidate will have experience supporting or conducting human subjects research with cancer patients or other chronic or serious illness populations and knowledge of clinical trial requirements. In addition to being detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable, the successful candidate will exhibit maturity, customer service, excellent written and oral communication skills, an ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines, and good judgement. The successful candidate will have strong skills in MS software, remote meeting platforms, and online survey platforms (REDCap or Qualtrics).

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work arrangement.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, document and file management systems (e.g. SharePoint, One Drive, Microsoft Teams file repositories), project management/workflow tools for tracking tasks, timelines, and program plans, virtual meeting platforms, online survey administration systems; strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree preferred, at least 3 years experience supporting human subjects research studies, with preference for clinically-focused research support, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, attend to firm deadlines, and work with partners from a variety of disciplines.
